Dr Athar Hussain

COMSATS University Islamabad

Athar Hussain has a PhD in Physics from Quaid-i-Azam University, in Islamabad, and a PhD in Meteorology from the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA. He has served as COMSATS Science Ambassador for Climate Change since 2015, and as Head of Centre for Climate Research and Development (CCRD) at COMSATS University since 2018. His current research interests include climate change and attribution. He has considerable research and teaching experience in Japan, Taiwan, USA, Saudi Arabia, and several countries in Europe. He has delivered a large number of seminars based on his research at institutes such as FNAL and ASPEN (USA), CERN (Switzerland), DESY (Germany), LAPP (France), KIAS (Korea), and KEK and YITP (Japan).

Dr. Shuchi Talati, Founder and Executive Director

The Alliance for just Deliberation in Solar geoengineering

Since launching DSG in 2023, Shuchi has built a wide array of collaborators within the climate, justice, and solar geoengineering communities, working towards enabling potential collaborations, and conducting broad outreach to grow awareness, in addition to authoring several publications and representing DSG in the media.

Hassaan Sipra, Director of Global Engagement

The Alliance for just Deliberation in Solar geoengineering

Hassaan Sipra is a climate and environmental researcher formerly affiliated with COMSATS University Islamabad. Currently, he is working as a consultant on various projects, including for the Resources for the Future (RFF) Solar Geoengineering Research Project and for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) . He holds a Masters in Environmental Management from Yale University and is a former Andrew Sabin International Environmental Fellow.

Saima Naz, GIS Database Developer

COMSATS University Islamabad

Ms. Saima Naz is a GIS Expert at the Centre for Climate Research and Development (CCRD), COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan. She has done her MS in GIS & Remote Sensing from the Department of Meteorology, CUI. Currently, she is involved in several research projects related to climate change, environmental issues, and solutions. She has served as a GIS manager at Geomatics Services and completed the first phase of the Prime Minister’s project of Cadastral mapping and digital land records. Her research areas are marine sciences, hydrology, and water resource management.

Raheel Azher, Web Developer

COMSATS University Islamabad

Mr. Raheel Azher holds a degree in Computer Science from Preston University Islamabad, showcasing a broad technical skill set encompassing Graphic Designing & Web Development, Backend & Front-End support, Research, and the Internet of Things. He is currently engaged in providing freelance services to various organizations. Additionally, he collaborates on different research projects like “Smart water metering and pricing project: A step towards Sustainable Development” and “Feasibility Study for Provision of Safe Drinking Water Through Conservation (SDWC)” with the Center for Climate Research and Development at COMSATS University Islamabad.
